Our favored Doctor, Indiana Jones is back and returning to the big screen once again to don his wide-brimmed sable fedora through yet another accelerated adventure!
It has also been announced that Harrison Ford will be returning for a reprise in his role, alongside returning director, Steven Spielberg. The film still remains in the very early stages of pre-production and has yet to be titled, however it has also been announced that Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will share the responsibility of producing the major motion picture.
“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” stated Alan Horn, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor, and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
Disney’s purchase and acquirement of Lucasfilm in 2012 also brought along the rights to multiple projects from George Lucas which includes the Indiana Jones franchise as well as Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound and video game company LucasArts. Kennedy was also chosen and promoted to become studio president during the contractual agreements.
The fifth installment of the saga has been announced and confirmed for release July 19, 2019. We will continue to provide updates on this highly anticipated film as it becomes available, and we can’t help but wonder, will the snakes return as well?
