Thanks to Nintendo’s excellent marketing and coverage at WonderCon 2016, fans’ were able to score first hands-on gameplay for multiple titles of the franchise before their release date and were also introduced to a massive new line of Nintendo-themed toys.
Among the items revealed during JAKKS Pacific Panel at WonderCon included a multitude of new plush characters, as well as a bronze and Spencer’s Exclusive Shadow Link. A Splatoon Squid plush was also revealed, along with limited editions’ of a Villager, Samus, and Tanooki Mario — the list even includes a ‘Chomp Chomp’ and a Chain Chomp!
Thanks to Nintendo Inquirer for sharing a collection of images from the panel, we’re able to revel in the excitement of new toys being launched for the both the past and upcoming game series. With the statement of ceasing production on all Wii U consoles by winter and the presence held at WonderCon 2016, it’s obvious that Nintendo wishes to increase their popularity amongst their competitors’ and are coming out with both arms swinging.
Among the freshly unveiled characters were three versions of 20″ ‘Nintendo Big Figs’ that include Link, Classic Mario and Fire Mario; set for a Spring 2016 launch, set at SRP of $29.99.
A new RC-vehicle the ‘Mario Mini Racer’ was also introduced possessing the capabilities to drive in both standard or anti-gravity mode. This model is available in just one style, as Mario in his iconic racer and is set for launch in Fall of 2016, where its SRP is $39.99.
In addition, up for release are multiple action figures of your favorite characters that range in height from 2.5″ to 4″, which are set to start appearing on shelves in Spring of 2016, with a suggested retail price of $4.99 to $9.99
To accompany the exciting new action figures being brought to the franchise, Nintendo is also releasing multiple accessory assortments packages to pair with your favorite characters and figures, which are set for a Spring debut, and have a suggested SRP of $12.99.
The mega-gaming franchise also celebrated the release of their new title, Hyrule Warriors Legends, by making the game available for general public play on the nationwide release date. Amongst the other titles being promoted, Pokkén Tournament was definitely one of the most popular, allowing convention attendees to jump into Namco’s newly released game.
